Famous and beloved worldwide internet sensation Grumpy Cat died today at the ripe old age of 7. The cat, actually known by the name of Tardar Sauce, rose to prominence as an internet meme when images of it surfaced online back in 2012. Grumpy Cat got her name from her iconic and prevalent scowl that made it look like it wanted to murder you, hack your limbs off, and feed it to the pigs.
Few hours after her death, the mayor of Morristown, Arizona promised that a statue will be built to honour the cat whose expression he says was “the embodiment of our reaction to the tyranny of the Trump regime”. Ever since his statement, the alt-left has turned Grumpy Cat into their symbol for anti-Trump and anti-Republican sentiments. An online crowd-funder has also been initiated in order to gather funds that will be used towards building the statue. It has garnered 8,300$ so far within 6 hours of starting.
While it is crazy to see that an innocent internet cat with a pissed off face is now going to be upheld as a symbol for a select few politically radical retards, we can at least get some consolation from knowing that as long as the statue of Grumpy Cat stands, she will always remain alive in spirit.
